West Elm & Geo-Fleur Terrarium Workshop
Just completed the very cute and surprisingly therapeutic terrarium workshop hosted by the lovely Sophie from Geo-Fleur at the West Elm store on Tottenham Court Road. You are asked to bring your own terrarium, or buy one from the lovely selection at West Elm and all the other ingredients are provided!
This is a very basic introduction to making a terrarium so don't expect a biology lesson in creating the perfect ecosystem for your air plants to survive. Instead, cacti soil is used and cacti are provided along with some stones for decoration and as long as the plants have air and the occasional spritz of water you've got your own indoor garden!
Getting your hands dirty (and hopefully not pricked by spines!) was a lot of fun and packing down the plants with dirt was strangely cleansing. I became quite absorbed in it using a bent up spoon as a mini shovel and a paintbrush to remove any dirt from the plants. And then the end result was my very own hand made terrarium-which I just hope makes it home safely on the tube!!
